RACE REPORT
Today saw the 2nd running of the Streets of Naas 5km hosted by Naas AC to precede the Easter Parade. Once again this was a superbly organised event in every way with nothing left to chance, no details left out. Sarah and her team were out at all hours making sure everything was in order - including having a lifeguard along the canal - just in case..... thankfully - no lifeguard was required, everyone finished safe and sound.
The course changed this year to make things safer for runners and spectators alike which made today's event even more enjoyable with a beautiful finish along the canal to a warm reception from marshals and spectators alike, lots of "high-5's" and cheers from club/team-mates.
Just over 300 registered for this "juicy" course, with a wide spread of clubs from all over Leinster but it was Dunboyne's Peter Somba who lead the athletes home in a blistering time of 15m23 and Michelle Cox from Newbridge AC leading it home for the ladies in 18m11.

RESULTS
The runners, joggers and walkers were treated to a beautiful spring day in Naas with the sun even shinning it's smiley face upon us all. Plenty of smiling faces as they ran past through the finish line knowing what treats laid in wait for them in the town hall, (it's a good job Lent is over with all the goodies out on display)
These to beautiful children were running in memory of their cousin Sheena along with their mum and Sheena's mum.

When the "Beast of the East" struck on the 1st day - Naas was hit hard, When his son appeared - Naas was hit hard a 2nd time, well the "Grandson" of the "Beast" was meant to hit again this weekend - Naas kicked back and rolled out the sunshine for everyone - "take That you Beast :-)"
