beautiful bright sunny Saturday morning in the quiet village of
Laragh, Co. Wicklow , shhh, not even 8am yet and the mist is rising
giving way for the sun to brake through, hardly a breeze blowing
allowing the smoke from a distant chimney to billow straight to
heaven, what an ideal setting for runners taking part in the inaugural 8km and 20km trail races. Both races started and finished
in Laragh GFC grounds.
This was soon about to change as a hive of activity soon started up. Tables were being set up, burco boilers being filled in preparation for the pre and post race refreshments (and for the troops preparing the food while the runners were enjoying their race), lovely home and locally made treats on a steady flow into the tented area, very hard to resist sampling them, - well it would have been rude not to...
