Bohermeen Half Marathon 2019

RACE REPORT

The Bohermeen A.C. Half Marathon yet again threw up another fabulous club event with a sell out of over 1,500 runners. This long standing club certainly knows how to look after club runners and participants who enjoy running as part of their life. We could get a real sense of community in Bohermeen as runners from all parts of the country took to the Meath village. We had typical March blustery conditions mixed with a couple of heavy hail and sleet showers. Runners braved the conditions as well as the Volunteers who stood by the road side supporting the runners.

The race itself was packed with quality through out in both the Men's and Women's races. The results and times reflect the quality on show. The overall winner was Yared Dersese of Carrick Aces with Gary O'Hanlon 2nd and in 3rd was Eric Keogh of Donore Harriers.

The Women's race was won by another familiar runner Caitriona Jennings of Letterkenny A.C. In 2nd was Sarah Lavery of Beechmount Harriers, and 3rd was Jane Anne Meehan from Galway City Harriers.

The overall team of 4 to score in the Men's event was won by Donore Harriers. They also won the Delany Cup, which had 6 to score. The Women's Rennicks cup was 4 to score and won by Sli Cualainn of Wicklow.

This was also part of the Meath Half Marathon Championship results that we will publish later as provisional.
