Cara Bundoran 10k/ 10 Mile
RACE REPORT
The Cara Bundoran 10 Mile and 10k brought Bundoran to life today as over 2,200 runners braved the damp misty weather. The numbers were up on last year with another record attendance for the 8th year of the event. This event has strong and loyal returning participants. Runners from all over the North West, Northern Ireland and the South of Ireland descended to the sea side town that is normally known to be a surfing hot spot.
The day started with the 10 mile walkers heading off at 10am. The big 10 mile race started at 11 am and brought the town to a stand still. The race is itself was won by John Travers of Donore Harriers for the second year running. John, is also fresh from breaking a sub 4 minute mile indoor, just 2 weeks ago. This was superb achievement.

The female winner was Teresa Doherty followed by Fiona Stack of Raheny Shamrock AC and Claire Mcguigan of Lifford Strabane.

The conditions were not easy with a strong coastal breeze for runners to battle for many parts of the course.
There were age categories for the 10k and 10 mile..
