Terenure 5 Mile

RACE REPORT

For a second consecutive year the Terenure 5 Mile sold out before race day. This is a classic club race that now attracts over 1,500 runners. This year brought some high quality runners to the field. Both the Men's and Women's events attracted some very noticeable Athletes. Of the 1,500 plus participants many took part to join the fabulous atmosphere that surrounds the event. The Race consisted of 2 loops around Terenure and the surrounding area.

The race was close all way with many athletes in contention. Spectators along the route got to witness some fine athletes tussle it out for honors. In the end the race was won by Peter Samba. For most parts of the race Mick Clohisey of Raheny Shamrock was leading until the final 500m. Samba after sitting on his shoulders had the extra legs to push. Well done to both runners for providing and excellent spectacle for the finish. Feidhlim Kelly on announcing and PA duties gave the crowd plenty of vital race stats and information on participants, making the finish line very exciting indeed.

Team and category prizes all up for grabs. Teams included over all teams and declared masters teams.
