Aware Christmas 10k Run
RACE REPORT

The Aware Christmas Run for 2016 was a huge hit and success with participants. Over 2,000 runners came to enjoy a great event. The weather conditions were perfect for running with temperatures reaching from 9 to 10 degrees with little or no wind. The race consisted of a 5k and 10k which both started on Chesterfield Avenue. There was a great atmosphere building up to the big Race Start. Former Olympian Eamonn Coghlan started the runners on their way. Dublin's radio station 98fm brought their big red Thunder Bus to the Start line creating much fun and providing a live broadcast. The big red bus was properly attired in festive cheer with Christmas lighting form end to the end. Runners were treated to some Cadbury chocolate treats to help boost the sugar levels at the Finish Line.
The Aware Run is an annual event running over 11 years and always attracts its loyal supporters who have turned out in all weather conditions over the years. Aware is hugely important supporting those suffering with mental health and depression. This event is vital to its Fundraising activities.
