RACE REPORT

Tullamore Harriers hosted their annual Half Marathon with another sell out event. The event has grown rapidly over the last few years with entries selling out at a faster rate year on year. The Tullamore Half Marathon is now a highly sought after and must do event in the road race calendar. It has also built with it a large reputation. There are many reasons for this. The club has vast experience of organising top class events along with high club participation leading to some quality racing. There is a strong club feel and a sense that the race is very much focused on the runner. The event also attracts non club runners. This event was part of the the Leinster and Offaly Championships.

This years winner was Freddy Sittuk of Rahney Shamrock A.C. The ladies winner was Ailsing O'Connor of Edederry A.C. This year the men's team was awarded with the long standing Quinlan Cup that was originnally awarded for combined male and female team athletes. This year the ladies were awarded with the Phyllis Delaney Cup. The scoring was based on placing with 4 to score.

Well done to host club Tullamore Harriers, volunteers and participants for a great event.
