RACE REPORT

 

 

Tralee was a buzz of excitement today with the annual Rose of Tralee festival taking place over the weekend. The Rose 10k was just part of the weekends festivities. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the town centre where runners finished on Denny Street.  Only a few hours previous fireworks, street parades, music and the introduction of this years Rose's were introduced to the thousands who lined the streets. Many hundreds lined the same streets of Tralee to view the race finish and greet the Rose 10k runners across the finish line. Runners from all over Kerry, Ireland and overseas visitors took part in today's event of over 500 participants. One these participants to enjoy the event was RTE's Ray Darcy....(pictured below)

 

 

 

 

The race was won by Mark Hanrahan of Leevale AC Cork in a very impressive time of 30:38. The ladies winner was Laura Crowe of local kerry club An Riocht in Castleisland.
