Race Report.

Record numbers turn out for the annual Terenure 5 mile road race held in glorious sunshine in Dublin this morning.In a party atmosphere with some cool sounds provided the Morro Samba band the heart rate were rising along with the feeling of summers arrival, with the pacers balloons adding an extra smile to the race.The crowds gathered on the start line and the banter was in full swing.  

 

 

 

The race ended with a sprint finish between Dunboyne's Peter Somba and Raheny's Mick Clohissy with only 1 second separating the 2 men.

 

The ladies winner was Borrisokanes Siobhean O'Doherty with Crusaders Orla Drumm close in 2nd place.

 

 

Post race refreshments were top class with a number of Sportsworld athletes competing on a different level - we still don't have the winner of that competition, all we can say is there wasn't a scrap left so what does that tell you. 

We met this happy bunch enjoying some post race refreshments in Templeogue after the event.
