St Lukes Home 5k Run (Cork)

RACE REPORT

St Luke's 5k in Cork attracted their largest ever number of participants with 600 supporting the care home. Funds raised were going direct to St. Lukes and it was very much appreciated by the event organisers. The event was extremely well organised like most Cork events. The race attracted some fine Athletes along with many leisure runners walkers and their families. Local and national sporting icon Rob Heffernan started the race off and and gave his gave his support and good wishes to St. Lukes which provides important services within the community.

The race itself was won by Niall Shanahan of An Bru AC. Niall had a comfortable however there was some good tight finishes behind.

The female winner was Sinead O'Connor Leevale AC.

Age category results were yet again very strongly contested.
