RACE REPORT

The first running of St. Andrews Ashbourne AC's 5k & 10k took place this morning in Ashbourne. Over 200 runners took the challenge to support the local athletics club. The aim of the event was to help promote athletics in the local community through a fun a social event.. Local Athletics Clubs also supported the event with Ratoath AC, Drogheda & District AC, Dunshaughlin AC, Dunboyne AC, Raheny Shamrock AC, Polish Running Club Ireland and many more.

The event also hosted a children's 2k race which set the morning off with a bang at 10:30 while the 5k and 10k started off together at 11:00. The 2 distances stayed together for the first 3.5k where the 5k runners broke away to return home and the 10k runners then went off to hit the main street of Ashbourne.

The winner of the 5k was Shane Boylan of Dunshauglin AC. The ladies winner was Eva McNelis of Dunboyne AC.

Due to an error on the 10k route results have not been posted, if your personal timing device (Garmin, phone etc) clocked the 10k distance please email [email protected] and your result will be uploaded.
