RACE REPORT

Well what a day, hot in EVERY way, the sunshine really does bring out the best....

Terenure 5 is 1 of the top listed club races in Dublin and this year once again SOLD OUT proving that club races are still very much alive. It takes a lot of very hard work, a lot of time and commitment to put together an event like what has just taken place so to all of you guys in Sportsworld - very very well done to each and every one of you 👍

This morning's program got underway at 10:40 with the walkers setting off to enjoy the beautiful morning sunshine, this was followed at 11am with the main event of just under 1500 runners, joggers and walkers taking to the streets of Terenure for the 35th running of the race, they were treated to a party set-off by Frank Greally comparing and the fabulous sounds of the Samba Band.

Today produced another cracker of a race with Dunboyne's Peter  Brandon Somba and Raheny's legend that in Mick Clohisey battling out from the start to produce an exciting finish that had everyone screaming as the 2 men's battled right to the line, in the end Peter just edged in front to win by a second.
 
In the ladies race Ciara Hickey was the winner storming in in a blistering time of 28 mins, Siobhan O'Doherty (last years' champion) took 2nd place with DSD's Linda Byrne taking 3rd. 
 
The excitement continued right through the race as clubs were fighting for senior and master's team places which in some cases there was only a couple of points separating the teams; as well as age cat prizes. full results can be found on the link below...

After the event - the runners were escorted safely across the road by the local Guards (thank you) back to St Mary's for post race refreshments and the prize giving and basking in the glory and sunshine
