RACE REPORT

The Simon Community hosted another very successful and enjoyable event for it's participants and supporters. The event called Simon Home Run attracted nearly 2,000 participants to help raise vital funds for the homeless charity. Homelessness is currently a hot subject due to a lack of housing and other social factors. Today's event not only raised funds but it also highlighted the current status of the homelessness in Dublin and across the country. Many young children and students attended the event with their schools. The support of these young people may help tackle the issues affecting homelessness in the future.

The event itself was very well organised with lots on offer for the participants. Live bands, PA commentary by Frank Greally, children's games, hot food and other refreshments were made available.

The race was won by Sean Hehir of Rathfarnham WSAF.. The female winner was Una Britton of Kilcoole A
