Rathkenny AC 5k

RACE REPORT

Rathkenny AC hosted their biggest ever 5k event with record numbers of 262 signing up. The race attracted many local runners and surrounding clubs. Meath, Louth and Dublin all had club representation. Many of the athlete have taken part in this race since it's inception. The good word has been passing arouns as the race has grown by over 30% in participation.

The race was won by Brian McCloskey of North East Runners. Brian has won this race for the last 3 years and held onto his title followed by Stephen Kelly of Drogheda & District AC.

The female race was won by Laura McDonnell of Tallaght AC. This was close race with Karen Mcdonnell close behind in second.

There were age category prizes for over 40, 50 and 60s, which lead to very competitive racing among the master ages.
