Rathfarnham 5k

RACE REPORT

Rathfarnhan 5k was yet another cracking club race this year with just under 1,100 runners signing up. This race has a very high reputation for recording fast times and attracting top athletes. Athletes from Dublin, Antrrim, Cork, Derry, Down, Laois, Louth, Kildare, Kilkenny, Meath, Tipperary, Wicklow and more took to the start line togged out in their club colours. The distance people traveled proves the standard and reputation that this 5k hosted by Rathfarnham WASF has developed over the years.

The race has also become hugely popular with the local community. The surge of healthy activity and clean living has also aided the event build it's numbers. The extremely high level of organisation has made this attractive to fun runners and their families.

The winner of the race was Efrem Gidey of Clonliffe Harriers in a time of 14:18 with Mary Mulhare of Portlaoise A.C. taking the top female position in a time 16:46

Results also included age cats and team results with 4 to score for the senior and 3 for Junior Teams

Well done to Rathfarnham WSAF A.C., volunteers and participants for making this a successful event.
