Portmarnock 5k & 10k
RACE REPORT

The Portmarnock 5k and 10k had record numbers this eve. Over 470 runners came to enjoy the partial beach run. This has become a very popular event over the last number of years. Portmarnock AC was the host club who provided a superb event. The race started in Naomh Mearnog GAA grounds and finished on the Beach of Portmarnock. Each Runner was treated to Ice cream and Asian Food on the beach and a further treat of cakes and sandwiches back in the race HQ of the GAA club.

The 5k race was won by Raheny Shamrock AC's Joe O'Donoghue. The female winner was Annette Kealy also from Raheny Shamrock AC.
The 10k provided a cracking finish between 2 rival club Athletes. Cloniffe Harriers Colm Rooney had a toe to toe sprint finish with Raheny's Freddy Stukk. Colm Rooney took the honours by just one second. The female winner was the in form Zoe Quinn of Dublin Bay Running Club who is having a good year on the road.
The Local Portmarnock club had a fantastic night wining all the team prizes for both male and female teams in the 5k and 10k.
