Pettitts Supervalu Wexford Half Marathon & 10k

RACE REPORT

The Pettitt's SuperValu Wexford Half Marathon and 10k was another fantastic event in the Sunny South East. The sun was certainly shining down on all participants today. Runners certainly had a great race experience today and it's easy to see why this event has been so popular over the years. Nearly 1,000 runners took the start line for the Half Marathon and just over 400 ran in this year's 10k. The start line was located on the Promenade area just off Trinity Street, while the finish line was located on the Faythe.

The town of Wexford was buzzing as runners and onlookers as runners made their way out onto the Half Marathon and 10k course . The town welcomed all participants with open arms. Many runners came from all parts of the country and made this a weekend break away. With sunshine and a warm welcome vibe runners will certainly be returning again next year.

Sean Hehir took top spot for the 10k race and the women's winner was Audrey Gahan of Donore Harriers. The Half Marathon was won by David Mahon of local club Slaney Olympic and the women's race was won by Lucy O' Malley.

See our full results and age category winners in the results tab below. Well done to Bear Events, Eoin Ryan, DMP AC, local authorities and the local residents of Wexford for making this a great day.
