Mullingar 10 2019

RACE REPORT

The Mullingar 10 mile proved to be another top class event. Mullingar Harriers host this event every year and attract some fine Club athletes from all over the country. The race also attracted many non competitive runners making this a really enjoyable and relaxed feel. The high level of organisation and experience by Mullingar Harriers also contributed to the feel good factor. Nothing was missed out.

Runners were safeguarded and made feel safe by the large number of experienced and supportive marshals on the route and on the finish line. Runners were greeted at the finish with live commentary music and lots of support.

This years race was won by Freddy Sittuk of Raheny Shamrock A.C. who also won last year. The ladies winner was Grace Kennedy Clarke of Donore Harriers.. This was an ideal race to run in preparation for Dublin Marathon. At the front end of the field runners were able to motivate and pace each other to run well and give a good performance.

Age categories were also given to spice up the competition that bit more.
