MSB St. Patrick's Festival 5K 2019

RACE REPORT

The MSB St. Patrick's Festival 5k had a bumper year of registrations this year for it's annual 5k. After last year's cancellation due to weather conditions, all participants had the chance to return to this years event. Host club Metro St. Brigid's were only too delighted to welcome all runners back for this great city race. This is one of Ireland's fastest city 5k races. It attracts some very fine runners along with joggers, walkers and many overseas participants who were enjoying the St. Patrick's weekends activities.

We witnessed a very competitive race in both the men's and women's races. We had a battle between Hiko Tonoso of Dundrum South Dublin and Efrem Gidey of Clonliffe Harriers. On the home Straight Hiko turned up the gas with a strong finish to win.

Fionnuala McCormack of Kilcoole AC won the women's race. Age categories were also awarded with extremely tight battles looking for top honors.

Metro St. Bridgid's won the women's team prize with Clonliffe Harriers winning the men's team.

The Run Hub were winners of the corporate team prize.
