EVENT REPORT
Lusk 4 mile broke more records today with both registrations and times ran on the course. Over 300 children signed up for Thomas Ashe Dash and over 1,050 runners. It had sold out over 1 week before the event.
The event has become a focal point in the village event calendar and Dublin Athletics. Massive support came from Neighbouring clubs like Ballymun A.C., Raheny Shamrock A.C. Clonliffe Harriers, Coolock Running Club, Skerries A.C, Innercity Running club, Artane Beaumont and many more. The host club Lusk A.C. also had a small army running. The club attendance and all stats can be seen in our stats section.
It was another fabulous family event and top class running.
The men's race was won by the very popular John Travers of Donore Harriers. John took the lead from early on and never looked back. John clocked a time of 18:43. 2nd place was Sean Cronin of Clonliffe Harriers with Conor Duffy of Glaslough Harriers in 3rd.
The women's race was always going to be an all guns blazing fight between National Marathon Champ & National Senior XC Champ Anne Marie McGlynn and current course record holder Ide Nic Dhomhnaill of West Limerick A.C.. We were not disappointed as Anne Marie McGlynn broke Ide's course record in a time of 20:30. Ide still managed to break her own course record in the process. Jessica Craig of North Down A.C. was 3rd
The mixed team winners were Raheny Shamrock A.C.
Well done to Lusk A.C. yet again for another great event. Each year the organisational levels keep rising. They have set that gold standard for race organisation.
