Lismullen 10k &3k

RACE REPORT

Lismullen National School hosted their annual 10k and family 3k today. This event has been growing each year and is supported well by the local community. Over 500 participants took to the roads around the school to take on their chosen distance.

The events started with the family 3k, this was a chipped and non chipped race. The first runner across the line was Jake Cullen from from local club Tara AC in 9:32, this was a tight battle with less than a second between Jake and 2nd runner home Bedilu Gebresezassik of Dundrum South Dublin AC. First female home was Maura Kearns of Donore Harriers in 11:12.

Next up was the 10k where on a tough course local man Sean Murphy of Trim AC took the first podium position in 35:27 followed quickly by Evan McCormack of Outkast Harriers with Daman Bourke taking 3rd. First lady home was Orla Drumm of Crusaders AC in 37:32 with Michelle Cox of Newbridge AC in hot pusruit, completing the top 3 ladies home was Laura McDonnell of Tallaght AC.
