RACE REPORT

 

The John Treacy Dungarvan 10 celebrated it's 26th running of the event in style today. This was a sell out event of 2,650 runners. Runners of extreme high quality lined up for epic racing. The show of club runners indicated the success of Irish Running and its popularity. Each county countrywide was very well represented. Not only was the event filled with club runners but many non club runners made the journey. This was a race for everybody. The weather conditions were calm and ideal for running for the time of year. This race certainly graced the great local legend John Treacy.

 

The atmosphere was building up all day with music and commentary building the excitement around at Start Line area. The splash of coloured club singlets gave a real big race feel to the event. West Waterford AC certainly provided runners with another great day.. With such a huge crowd it was amazing to that there was enough food to feed all participants and their friends and family. This indicates the high level of organisation by James Veale and West Waterford AC. Well done to all involved.
