
Race Report
The Drogehda 10k seen its 2nd highetst number of entries this year with over 1,730 runners signing up. The event, like most races this year sold out 1 week before race day. This is one of the countries best start and finish lines for action and atmosphere that you can experience as both a participant and a spectatotor.
Everything went so well for this years event. Even the sun made an appearance for the first time in many days. We had a real carnival festival vibe to this years event. Locals make this their number one running event for the year. From early Spring locals from around the town of Drogheda and Louth start their preperations for the Drogheda 10k. A big thank you to all spoonsors and especially Odd Moilies for making this event happen.
To make the day even better local man Aaron Hanlon of the host club Drogheda & District A.C. won the race. He got a huge welcome from the thuusands of onlookers. Aaron ran a time of 31.18. He was closely followoed by Colin Maher of Ballyfin A.C in a time of 31.25. in 3rd place was Vladislav Evseev. The top 3 were awarded overall prizes for both men and women. Age categories and teams were also awarded. Race Results and stats can be seen below.
The mens team winners were Drogheda & District A.C. They also won the Louth Champs which was incorporated into the race.
The womens winner was the pre race favourite Fiona Roche from Raheny Shamrock A.C.in a time of 36.34 Laura McDonell of Rathfarnham WSAF A.C.was 2nd with Aoife Fay in 3rd place.
