RACE REPORT

Clonliffe Harriers hosted their annual Christmas Cracker 5km in extremely mild conditions today in Morton Stadium. This event has become an extremely popular in the Christmas race calendar. Just under 300 runners signed up for this years event with many families taking time out to get moving and burn off the excess's of Christmas. Morton Stadium provided participants with a safe and enjoyable experience. The course was a flat fast 5k route around the area of Santry with both the start and the finish lines located on the track. Runners completed one lap of the track before making their way out on the road and completed a further lap when re entering the stadium. This created a great atmosphere for runners and supporters.

The race was very competitive at the top end for both the male and female races. The male winner was local favorite Effrem Gidey of Clonliffe Harriers.

The Female winner was Ciara Hickey from Dublin Club Brothers Peasre A.C.

Well done to Clonliffe Harriers, participants and spectators for making this another highly successful event.
