 Another absolute Brilliant event in Clonakilty today at the Waterfront Marathon. This years event was a very special event with 3 ex Boston Marathon Winners in attendance. Two of these were from Boston ( 1st Female winner Bobbi Gibb and Male winner Amby Burfoot) and the 3rd from Ireland Neil Cusack. Adrianne Haslet a Boston Bomber survivor also ran the 10k with her Blade Runner prostethic leg.

Runner had a great experience today. The weather was ideal for running with a huge and lively atmosphere at the start and finish line areas of the Clonakilty Hotel. The event was helped by some very well known race director Ray O'Connor and PA announcer Frank Grealy to give further enhance a fantastic event. Runners were treated to one of the best medals to be handed out an event in Ireland this year. 

 

The Male Winner of the Marthon was Gary O' Hanlon 

 

 

 

 

The Female Winner of the Marathon was 

 

 

Lucy Brennan of Sligo AC

Val Fogarty celebrating her 100th Marathon with her Club Marathon Club Ireland. The Marathon Club of Ireland celebrated many of its members today reaching milestone achievements from 50th 100th 200plus 400 plus completed Marathons.
