RACE REPORT

Another fantastic East Cork Harbour Marathon spoiled runners today in East Cork. Just over 1,000 runners signed up to take part in the multiple event distance. Every type of runner jogger and walker was given the best of East Cork welcome. The level of organisation was of the highest quality. Race HQ was in the Aghada GAA grounds along with the Finish line. Runners were catered for in every way possible from start to finish. Runners were treated to a fantastic T shirt, medal and goodie bag full of treats that would certainly re fuel the body. This was certainly one of the high light events in Cork this year.

This years charity partner was Marymount in Cork. All 3 races were a great a success and enjoyed by all runners. Runners appeared from 7am to get ready for the big day ahead. The first event to finish was the 10k event. The winner of 10K was Kevin O'Brien of East Cork AC and closely followed on his tail was Tim Twomey and Kevin O'Leary. The female winner of the 10k was Jennifer Walsh of Ballymore Cobh AC
The Half Marathon winner was Kenneth Kelleher of East Cork AC and the female was Carmel Crowley of Bandon AC.
The Marathon winner was Lawerence O'Hara of Belfast and the female winner was Rachel Stokes of Kerry Crusaders AC.
