RACE REPORT

There is a sense of fun and relaxation compared to a real competitive road race. It still has that great club feel but more relaxed and time out.

 

That said there are those who turn up to win and be very competitive. Before and after the event runners mingled and had their chat and catch up at race HQ located beside the boat house that is also a feature in the grounds of Carton House. 

 

Peter Somba from the host club took 1st place, 2nd was Alan Clarke of St Brigids AC and in 3rd was Tom Feeley of Trim AC. 

 

The dual of the night took place in the womens race betwen Luara Buckley of Dunboyne A.C. and Breffini Kelly of Clane AC this went right to the line. For a large part of the race it looked like it was Laura's race to win but with less than 100m to go Breffini made a final charge with a strong sprint to overtake Laura and take the title.

 

 

Trim AC took the glory in the men's team category with Dunboyne AC in second and Celbridge AC in 3rd. The Dunboyne ladies took the women's team title, Civil Service were 2nd and Trim AC 3rd team.
