RACE REPORT

This years Battle of Clontarf 10 Mile basked in Summer like conditions, which was a contrast to last years cold and wet conditions. Just over 500 runners signed up for today's event in St. Anne's Park. This was part of the Leinster 10 Mile Road Championships. Clubs from all over Leinster took part in the hope of taking home Leinster medals in their age categories or as part of their club team.

Many other runners outside of Leinster Club competition also took part to enjoy a great day out in St. Anne's Park. This event was hosted by Raheny Shamrock A.C. who organised yet another fantastic race and experience for runners. With the weather conditions been so good, the finish line area turned into a meeting point where runners were able to look back and chat on their run. Plenty of fun and banter took place among rival clubs and indeed within same club members at finish line.

Well done to all participants, organisers and volunteers for a fantastic event.

The winner was Kevin Little of Crusaders A.C. and the ladies winner was Florence Curley of Donore Harriers.

Host club Raheny Shamrock A.C., Tullamore Harriers and Donore Harroers all had a good day in team results, picking up Leinster medals across most age cats. Ferbane A.C. from Offaly won the Men's Senior team event even tho they were all master 35+ athletes. The Women's Senior team winners were Raheny Shamrock with 2 of their 3 scorers in the Master age categories. Other Club performing well were Civil Service Harriers, Crusaders A.C. Donore Harriers, Sportsworld RC, Portmarnock A.C.
