RACE REPORT
Balbriggan Roadrunners had another fun filled and very enjoyable event. The ethos of the club shone through is spades. This is very much an open event welcoming all types of runners walkers and joggers. The club has increased it's members dramatically along with its sister club Balbriggan & District A.C.
The welcoming atmosphere creates a great night for all. The Balbriggan club supports many other local races and tonight this appreciation from other clubs was paid back. Over 350 participants and club members from Louth (Drogheda & District A.C.), Meath (Cilles A.C. and Star Of The Sea A.C.) , and Dublin (Balbriggian, Clonliffe Harriers, Crusaders A.C., Lusk A.C. and Raheny Shamrok A.C.) all supported the event. The race HQ was in the local primary school St. Mologas NS. The race started and finished at race HQ. The route is a challenging one taking some stunning views of Balbriggan coast line. Conditions were humid with a stiff breeze to help cool down runners.
The race was won by Stephen Kelly of Drogheda & District A.C. and the female winner was Aoife Parella of Star of the Sea A.C.
Well done to all participants, Balbriggan Roadrunners and volunteers for a fantastic event.
