AON Mullingar Half Marathon

Aon Mullingar Half Marathon
After a 1 year absence the Aon Mullingar Half Marathon came back with a bang. Over 530 runners made their way to Mullingar with ideal weather conditions for running. These conditions certainly helped with PBs. The start and finish lines were buzzing with excitement. Runners and onlookers were delighted to the Aon Mullingar back up and running. Local celebrity Gerry Duffy kept the onlookers and runners entertained at the finish line with some great race commentary.
The race had some the usual top performers and fine athletes. Some very impressive times were ran. The race favourite Mick Fogarty won the race in 1 time of 1:10:38. Mick has been running extremely well with some fine performances over the last few months. Timmy Murphy of Mullingar Harriers finished 2nd in a time of 1:12:17. Another Ferbane athlete also had very impressive 2nd place finish, Paul Buckley finished in a time of 1:13:28.
The Women's winner was local lady Aine O'Reilly of Mullingar Harriers. Cora Regan was 2nd place in a time of 1:27:03 and in 3rd place was Cathryn Brady in a time of 1:28:21.
Well done to event organisers, local Gardai, Town council and all those who helped make this event happen.
