RACE REPORT

The 8th Ballintotis 4 mile attracted huge numbers again with over 900 runners taking part. Runners, walkers and joggers came to the East Cork village of Ballintotis. James McCarty of East Cork Was looking to make it 8 straight wins since the events inception. James did not disappoint the crowd and took his 8th victory in style. We witnessed a foot race right to the end. Sean Mcgrath ran his club mate James right to the line. The atmosphere was electric with so a close finish. Both Runners pushed extremely hard. The Ladies race was also a very tight affair between Claire Gibbons McCarthy and Aoife Cooke. Claire took the glory in the end with a great performance having to fight right to the end. She pulled away in the 500 meters of the race. Claire also came second in the National 10k in Dublin 2 weeks ago.
Many club singlets from all over Cork and a far were on display. This was real quality and depth in tonight's race. Many runners
