AON Mullingar Half Marathon 2017
RACE REPORT

Record numbers came to Mullingar on St. Patrick's Day to take part in the ever increasing popular event. Over 1,420 runners registered for the Half Marathon Challenge. Each year numbers are rising dramatically which is a an indicator of how popular this event is. Runners are given the Royal Treatment. The Start and Finish lines in the centre of town add to the great atmosphere and excitement. The effort and organisation put into the event is clear to be seen. Each Runner is treated with goody bag, T shirt, Sandwiches , teas and coffees.
The Finish line was alive with music and entertainment to greet the runners home. The race itself provided great
excitement to an already electric feel to the finish line area. Some very fine times were recorded by runners. The Top 3 runners had a great fight right to the end. Peter Mooney finally came out on top finishing strong. Peter was a well deserved and popular winner within the crowd. Age Categories were also very strongly contested for. Age categories were awarded for over 40, 50 and 60 years of age. Again some impressive times were recorded.
